So back in April 2011 I had the extreme pleasure of working as a production assistant for Ahrens and Flaherty on the first major “Rocky” workshop in NYC. Sylvester Stallone came and saw it and everything. It was killer. I then got to go back - either that fall or the next - for the Brooklyn Lyceum edition, with Alex Timbers now at the helm.
Why is this relevant now? Well, as you can imagine, lil baby 20-year-old Maggie was blown away by getting to hang out with her favoritest ever composer/lyricist duo and was incapable of shutting up about how much she loved them and Rocky and Tom Meehan and Rocky and Andy Karl and Rocky. NOW, THREE YEARS later, TONIGHT, my ENTIRE FAMILY FINALLY GETS TO SEE ROCKY!!!
I hope I didn’t kill it for them with three years of hype … Oh well. Anyway, here’s me and Lynn from the Lincoln Center/Juilliard workshop of “Rocky.”
